Flow Canine — Canine Massage & Laser Therapy

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern the booking and provision of canine massage therapy, myofascial trigger point therapy, lymphatic massage, laser therapy, and related services ("Services") provided by Flow Canine ("we", "us", "our") to you ("Client", "you") and your dog(s). By booking a session, you agree to these Terms.
1. Nature of Services
1.1 Flow Canine provides a mobile, hands-on canine massage and laser therapy service, conducted at floor level within "The Flow Space" — a calm, grounded setting designed for your dog's comfort and safety, typically in your dog's home environment.
1.2 Each therapeutic package includes an individualised assessment of your dog's gait, temperament, physical presentation, and overall health and wellbeing.
1.3 Our Services are complementary to veterinary care and are not a substitute, replacement, or alternative for veterinary diagnosis, treatment, or advice. We do not diagnose medical conditions, prescribe medication, or provide veterinary treatment.
1.4 Flow Canine is not liable for any delay or failure to seek appropriate veterinary attention by the Client.
2. Client Disclosure & Veterinary Information
2.1 You must disclose, to the best of your knowledge, all relevant information about your dog's health, behaviour, temperament, current medications, recent surgeries, injuries, illnesses, or veterinary treatment prior to the session.
2.2 Where appropriate or requested, you agree to provide veterinary notes or referrals, or to allow us to liaise with your veterinarian regarding your dog's care.
2.3 If your dog has a known medical condition (e.g. cancer, epilepsy, cardiac issues, recent surgery, pregnancy, or skin conditions), you must inform us before the session. We reserve the right to decline or postpone treatment, or to request veterinary clearance, where we consider it necessary for your dog's safety.
2.4 You confirm that you are the legal owner of the dog, or are otherwise authorised by the owner to arrange and consent to treatment on their behalf.
3. Bookings, Cancellations & Late Arrival
3.1 Bookings can be made via our website, phone, or email.
3.2 We understand that schedules can change unexpectedly – a cancellation fee may apply.

Cancellations within 24 hours: 50% of the appointment fee

Cancellations within 12 hours: 100% of the appointment fee
3.3 As we provide a mobile service, please ensure a suitable, safe, and accessible space is available at the agreed time. If we are unable to access the property or your dog is not available at the scheduled time through no fault of ours, this may be treated as a late cancellation under clause 3.2.
3.4 We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel an appointment due to illness, weather, or unforeseen circumstances, and will provide as much notice as possible.
4. Client and Dog Behaviour, Safety
4.1 You are responsible for your dog's behaviour during the session, including reasonable supervision and control where required.
4.2 We reserve the right to stop, decline, or end a session at any time if, in our reasonable judgement, the dog displays aggression, severe distress, or any behaviour that poses a risk to the safety of the practitioner, the dog, or others. No refund will necessarily be given where a session is ended for this reason.
4.3 We are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your dog's behaviour, pre-existing conditions, or any incident outside our reasonable control.
4.4 Please ensure other animals are appropriately secured during the session to support a calm environment.
5. Health, Safety & Liability
5.1 Canine massage and laser therapy carry inherent risks, as with any physical therapy. While we take all reasonable care, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes or that your dog will not experience temporary discomfort, tiredness, or behavioural changes following treatment (which are commonly normal post-treatment responses).
5.2 To the maximum extent permitted by law, Flow Canine excludes liability for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from the Services, except where such liability cannot be excluded under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other applicable New Zealand law.
5.3 Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 where you are a consumer for the purposes of that legislation.
5.4 You agree to notify us as soon as reasonably possible of any adverse reaction or concern following a session.
6. Payment
6.1 Fees for Services are as advised at the time of booking or as published on our website/price list.
6.2 Payment is due on the day of service / at time of booking, by cash or bank transfer.
6.3 We reserve the right to amend our prices from time to time. The price applicable will be that confirmed at the time of booking.
7. Photography, Testimonials & Social Media
7.1 We may take photographs or videos of your dog during a session for record-keeping, training, marketing, or social media purposes (e.g. our website or Facebook page).
7.2 We will seek your consent before using any identifiable images or testimonials publicly. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, and we will remove the relevant content within a reasonable time.
8. Privacy
8.1 Personal information collected (such as your name, contact details, and your dog's health information) is collected solely to provide and manage the Services and will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ).
8.2 We will not share your personal information with third parties except where necessary to provide the Services (e.g. liaising with your veterinarian with your consent), or as required by law.
8.3 You may request access to, or correction of, your personal information at any time by contacting us.
9. Intellectual Property
9.1 All content on our website and marketing materials, including text, images, and branding, remains the property of Flow Canine and may not be reproduced without permission.
10. Changes to These Terms
10.1 We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on our website at the time of your booking will apply.
11. Governing Law
11.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
